Our Rudi's Sel de Mer Experience
We dined at Rudi’s Sel de Mer one evening during our cruise. For appetizers I ordered the Trio of Seafood Salad, For entrées we both ordered the pan fried Fresh Fish of the Day. For sides we ordered the Haricots Verts and Pommes Purée. For dessert we both ordered the Crêpes Suzette. The food was well prepared, and the service was good, We especially enjoyed the hot rolls served with the meal - perhaps the rolls were the highlight of the meal. We did feel that many of our selections of fresh fish entries in the Main Dining Room were superior to the fresh fish we had at Rudi’s Sel de Mer.
We have dined at Rudi’s Sel de Mer both on this cruise as well as previous cruises. We love French food and were attracted to this restaurant because of its outstanding menu. However, we left a bit disappointed on all visits. Whereas the food was good, it certainly did not meet the standards of a good French brasserie. The service was fine, although a bit stodgy. We expected better since this is the most expensive specialty restaurant on the ship. On this cruise we preferred the consistently-excellent fresh fish selections served in the Main Dining Room..
