Usually, on Holland America cruises, there will be a late-night Chocolate Extravaganza or similar occasion when there's an elaborate dessert display to photograph and then enjoy. On this cruise, wiith many sea days the decision was to offer a Grand Buffet, held across the lunch hour and in the Main Dining Room, rather than around the pool or in the Lido. There were beautiful displays of all kinds of food—shrimp towers, breads in fascinating shapes, interesting fruit and vegetable creations, trays of meats, eggs, and cheeses—available first for photography and then served for an elaborate lunch.
